gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our clients based in Westcliff-on-Sea for an experienced Residential Support Worker for a children’s registered service providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment designed to harness, develop and sustain the hopes, talents and aspirations of children.
Main Purpose of Job
Join our team to provide high-quality residential care for children and young people. Ensure their physical, social, and emotional well-being, and support their holistic development and resilience.
Main Responsibilities
Supporting Children and Young People:
- Safeguard and promote their welfare.
- Report unsafe practices and conditions.
- Deliver individual and group work, and support leisure activities.
- Be a positive role model.
Personal Development and Team Membership:
- Support team members and less experienced staff.
- Promote anti-discriminatory practices.
- Attend supervision and staff meetings.
- Develop professional relationships with colleagues and other agencies.
Other Requirements:
- Continuously develop in your role.
- Undertake other duties as required, adapting to the unpredictable nature of residential care.
- Ensure flexibility in task management.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Comply with Children's Homes Regulations and inspection processes.
- Follow care and placement plans.
- Understand key policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.
