gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our clients based in Westcliff-on-Sea for an experienced Residential Support Worker for a children’s registered service providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment designed to harness, develop and sustain the hopes, talents and aspirations of children.

Main Purpose of Job

Join our team to provide high-quality residential care for children and young people. Ensure their physical, social, and emotional well-being, and support their holistic development and resilience.

Main Responsibilities

Supporting Children and Young People:

  • Safeguard and promote their welfare.
  • Report unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Deliver individual and group work, and support leisure activities.
  • Be a positive role model.

Personal Development and Team Membership:

  • Support team members and less experienced staff.
  • Promote anti-discriminatory practices.
  • Attend supervision and staff meetings.
  • Develop professional relationships with colleagues and other agencies.

Other Requirements:

  • Continuously develop in your role.
  • Undertake other duties as required, adapting to the unpredictable nature of residential care.
  • Ensure flexibility in task management.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with Children's Homes Regulations and inspection processes.
  • Follow care and placement plans.
  • Understand key policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.
