Salary/Rate:
£19.3/hour Pension, OT rates

We are working on behalf of our client, an established engineering firm, in their search for an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Winder Engineer. The company is renowned for manufacturing a wide variety of metal products for the waste industry and utilities sector. They offer a 24-hour repair service, so some overtime will be required.

Details:

  • Monday to Friday 8am4pm
  • 25 days holiday
  • OT paid at time and a third or double time
  • Pension Employee 3% / Employer 6%

Responsibilities:

As an Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and repairing AC stators and DC armatures efficiently. Your duties will include:

  • Dismantling and inspecting electric motors, fault finding, and completing reports
  • Rebuilding electric motors to specification
  • Stripping stators and recording technical specifications
  • Manufacturing coils and winding stators
  • Reconnecting stators based on technical information
  • Winding armatures and connecting commutators
  • Reassembling motors

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • Time-served apprenticeship
  • Minimum of five years' experience in motor rewinds or a similar Electro-Mechanical Winder Engineer role
  • Strong knowledge of electrical connections
  • High level of understanding of winding stators and armatures
  • Ability to interpret winding diagrams

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in mechanical repairs (pumps, gearboxes, fans)
  • Experience in dismantling and inspecting rotating equipment
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical equipment
