The Company

A leading Main Contractor and FM provider operating across the UK with projects ranging from £100k to £3m. Their growing Projects Division are looking to recruit an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to cover the Midlands with great opportunity for progression to senior levels over the coming years.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

For this role you must possess the following;

• Prior experience within the construction industry working for a main contractor for a minimum of 3 years
• Knowledge of new build and refurbishment projects (ideally £100k - £3m)
• A good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations.
• Well organised, self starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage commercial aspects of the works.
• Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties
• Ideally HNC / HND in construction or equivalent

The Role

As the sole Quantity Surveyor for the Midlands you will be responsible for supporting the commercial team in establishing client's requirements alongside performing risk, value and cost management on a variety of retail & commercial framework projects. In this role there will be the opportunity for progression along with the option for flexible working.

Duties

• Reporting into a visiting Commercial Manager from the Northern office

• Provide quantity surveying and project cost support activities
• To provide assistance as required within the department, including supplier procurement, internal and external cost control and effectiveness and developing surveying processes to improve delivery of planned maintenance projects
• Provide administration support and advice on contract terms, forms of contract and compliance
• Developing strong client relationships to aid future business growth and partnership working
• Develop and share innovative ideas and best practice with the Commercial and Operational Teams to support enhanced delivery performance
