Site Agent Position


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Agent to take control of managing resources for the construction of permanent earthworks and soft landscaping projects. You will work closely with the Construction Manager to organize the team, ensure all necessary paperwork is in place, and assist with the preparation of handover information. This role requires a leader who can drive the works to progress according to the Contract Programme, optimizing commercial advantage while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental considerations. You will also be responsible for training and developing the Site Engineering team.

Site Agent Key Responsibilities

  • Management & Supervision: Lead, manage, supervise, train, and mentor the site team to optimize their contributions.
  • Contract Review: Develop designs, working methods, programs, and forecast costs with the Construction Manager, General Foreman, and Subcontractors/Suppliers.
  • Budget & Program Development: Create programs and forecast budgets; assess productivity and take action as needed.
  • Subcontractor Management: Develop job-specific subcontract conditions and manage subcontractor accounts with the QS team.
  • Resource Requisitioning: Ensure timely requisitioning of resources to avoid delays.
  • Communication & Documentation: Communicate with QA and QS teams regarding non-conformances and client instructions; maintain comprehensive records.
  • Daily Site Management: Keep an accurate daily site diary, including changes, subcontractor attendance, and discussions.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Produce monthly reports for financial forecasting and project cost control.
  • Stakeholder Interface: Act as the key point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding project progress.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Set the highest example for Health and Safety requirements.

Site Agent Required Skills

  • Education: Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or an allied subject, or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of engineering principles, construction contract law, and forms of contract.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
  • Computer Competence: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Document control systems, and Primavera software.
  • Certifications: Relevant CSCS Card and training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
  • Compliance: Understanding of client and partner environment and sustainability policies and statutory requirements.
  • Experience: Preferably with temporary works and earthworks, though the correct engineering acumen is more critical.
