Maintenance Manager – Power Station

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join a biomass power station near Lochgelly, Scotland which is capable of producing more than 12MW for the grid.

As the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance function, including a team of multi skilled technicians, ensuring maximum plant availability and minimal downtime

Reporting to the Station Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing and directing a team of multi skilled technicians to ensure minimum plant downtime and maximum availability
• Manage short- and long-term maintenance objectives for the site
• Planning and executing the yearly plant outage/ shutdowns
• Managing the departments maintenance budget
• Oversee the management of the maintenance schedule
• Develop and maintain records of plant maintenance including work orders, PPMs and planned and unplanned outages and inspections
• Overseeing on site contractors
• Deputising for the site Station Manager when required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• A minimum of a HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally mechanical
• At least 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering in a relevant heavy process industry, ideally power generation but industries such as chemical production, steel works, refining etc. Royal Navy Marine Engineers at Chief Petty Officer level will also be considered
• A solid practical understanding of boilers, steam generation, pressure parts and associated plant equipment
• Ideally experience with managing a team/department budget
• Experience in a management or supervisory level role
• A good understanding of H&S principles
