Role: Graduate OR Junior Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Chester and fully onsite
Salary: up to £28,000 + benefits
Hours of Work: 36.25 (8.30am start- 4.30pm finish. 45 min lunch)
We are looking for a graduate electronics design engineer to join our hardware team.
This will be an on-site role so they must live within a commutable distance of the office and, given our remote location, own transport is vital (as we are not easy to get to on public transport).
This will be a one stage interview process.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a graduate or junior electronics Engineer to join our team producing innovative solutions.
Working as part of a team and utilising a wide range of exciting technologies, you will develop your skills while helping to develop new products, systems and features. You will be working alongside colleagues who have many years' experience in product development and will be involved in the full lifecycle, from feasibility to release to production and on-going support.
Your role will include:
- Help contribute to the creation of innovative designs
- Help to define requirements before proceeding to design
- Prototyping, and ensuring designs are testable, tested and documented
- Fault finding and debugging of circuits
- Analysis, selection and testing of alternative components
- Developing your knowledge of products, general practice and procedural areas
- Maintaining D&D support for purchasing, production and operations
- Prototype bring-up, testing and reporting
- Contribute to the design, certification and the release to manufacture process
- Proactively helping others as well as addressing any assigned tasks
- Ensure work is documented
- Proactively raise issues or risks, discovered or foreseen
- Ensuring compliance with all Company policies and procedures including Security, Environmental and Health & Safety, highlighting any real or potential Health and Safety issues to management in a timely manner and assisting in actioning any decisions made by management
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Ability to pick up new subjects quickly
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to record information accurately
- Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, drawings, datasheets etc.
- Manual dexterity [essential due to the nature of working with small components]
- Digital and/or analogue electronic schematic design and layout
- Prototyping
- Creating and/or applying tests to prove circuitry functionality
- Component level fault finding
- Use of test and measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscope, signal generators
