Due to extensive growth my client is looking for a highly skilled Generator Technician with excellent mechanical and electrical expertise in the power generation industry to join their team. The role involves servicing diesel and/or natural gas engines, generators, and automatic transfer switches from various manufacturers different customer sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a valid driver's license and provide proof of insurance eligibility.
• Must have electrical and mechanical aptitude related to diesel and/or natural gas engines, generators, and automatic transfer switches.
• Previous experience with power generation equipment such as diesel and gaseous generators from manufacturers such as CAT/Caterpillar, Cummins, Generac, and Kohler.
• Must be available and willing to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Basic computational skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Reader, and the ability to use a laptop for receiving correspondence and service tickets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond promptly to customer sites to diagnose and repair emergency maintenance issues on generator equipment.
• Visit customer locations to conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on state-of-the-art diesel and natural gas generators (e.g., CAT/Caterpillar, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and diagnose power generation equipment issues accurately, including problems with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and generator controls (AC and DC).
• Complete documentation promptly and accurately using company computer systems, and properly assess and report the urgency of necessary repairs.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
