English Teacher - Literature/Lanuguage - Hounslow - Mainsteam Secondary School - Permanent - September Start - Paid to Scale 

I am seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a 'Good' Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school in Hounslow. The successful candidate will teach English to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons.
    • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
    • Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Student Support:

    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
    • Encourage student participation in reading, writing, and discussion activities.
    • Provide additional support to students who need extra help.
  • Classroom Management:

    • Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment.
    • Implement school policies and procedures to manage student behavior effectively.
    • Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Extracurricular Activities:

    • Organize and lead English-related clubs, competitions, and events.
    • Promote opportunities for students to engage with literature and language outside the classroom.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development:

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and share best practices.
    • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
    • Stay updated with developments in English education and literature.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting is preferred.
