Empowering Learning is delighted to be recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant for a vibrant secondary school in Barnet. This full-time, long-term position offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse abilities of SEN students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor students' progress.
• Support students in developing social skills and managing their behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to deliver cohesive support.
• Facilitate students' participation in school activities and encourage their independence.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and communicate effectively with parents and carers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with secondary school students with SEN is beneficial
• A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
