A global manufacturer of complex precision components has a new vacancy for a Quality Engineer to join the team.  Joining at a time of expansion and new product development, you will undertake quality projects to reduce scrap, non-conformance and rework to improve process efficiency and quality.  Candidates are sought who have worked in a fast paced manufacturing environment with good problem solving skills and a good understanding of APQP, FMEA's, PPAP’s.

Salary: £ 34,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + pension

The Role

Undertake projects/quality activities and the project management of projects to reduce yield, scrap, and rework, and improve process efficiency.
Provide technical expertise to customers based on specifications/requirements.
Undertake RCCA & PA, 8D root cause with corrective actions investigations in timely manner.
Help drive continuous improvement and quality through the business.
Apply Zero Defect tools to nonconformance/process assessments for root cause corrective action, process risk reduction and measurement process assessments.
Plan and carry out internal audits, reporting and analyse results.
Carry out reviews and report on non-conformance data.
Address and ensure compliance with company/corporate rules of quality and safety.

The Person

An experienced quality professional, you will have a good understanding of all quality tools and processes including APQP, PPAP, FMEA’s with good problem-solving skills and New Product Introduction.  With a first right time attitude you must have worked in a fast-paced precision engineering manufacturing environment.
