About the Role

Army Headquarters and the Land ISTAR programme are a key customer and partner for Roke. In this newly created role, you will report into the Assistant Director of the Integrated Solutions Delivery Unit. You will lead a multi-disciplinary project team, engaging across the team, customer, industry partners, and the wider Roke business.

You will manage and co-ordinate programmatic activities across the constituent projects within the programme, lead the interface to and work with the existing PMO and maintain effective control, maintaining adherence to the programme's performance baseline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary programme team, delivering programme outcomes to the customers satisfaction.
  • Lead on engagements with internal and external suppliers and customers, demonstrating an ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Develop, manage and maintain key programme artefacts.
  • Lead on schedule, cost, risk, change management activities and reporting.
  • Effectively manage resources to ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare programme status reports for Assistant Director and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues with management and stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor junior project managers in the Delivery Unit.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential
  • Substantial knowledge of the Defence domain and experience in interfacing with UK MOD and its procurement agencies: Defence Digital (DD) and Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S).
  • MSP Practitioner or equivalent programme management qualification.
  • Formal Agile training, SAFE v6.0 an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience track in the successful delivery, control, planning and planning of a large complex data focused programme, in an agile/ SAFe environment.
  • In depth experience of programme management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and information flow in a matrix environment, possessing a strong aptitude toward working horizontally across the programme and vertically to senior levels of management.
  • Effective communicator and facilitator - able to adapt style to diverse audiences when communicating both formally and informally
  • Attention to detail, with effective presentation skills.
Desirable
  • Existing understanding of the Defence Digital organisation and associated network of contacts.
  • Understanding of broader MOD data programmes, standards and activities.
  • Proficient in EVM processes and their application ideally in an agile/SAFe environment.
  • Formal Management of Portfolios (MOP) training an advantage.

Clearances

Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC or DV clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the U.K. for the last 5 years or 10 years for DV Clearance.
