About the Role

DSTL are a key customer and partner for Roke. In this newly created role, you will lead an account team on behalf of the whole Roke business, acting as an enabler and a force multiplier for the activities within individual Business Units.

You will own the account strategy definition and will ensure its successful execution by working with representatives from within each of the Roke Business units.

Where appropriate, you will lead on the capture of significant or major opportunities in support of the account strategy

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as 'figurehead' for Roke into the DSTL stakeholder community.
  • Own the consolidated DSTL account strategy on behalf of the whole business, taking inputs from each business unit, and building a coherent strategy for the long term to align with DSTL's strategic direction.
  • Drive activity to build and share organisational understanding and trust with the DSTL organisation.
  • Lead the cross-business account team to deliver against the account strategy.
  • Build and maintain strategic industry partnerships aligned with the account.
  • Manage internal stakeholders to build and validate account strategy and planning, contributing to the development of our 5 Year Plan
  • Be accountable for critical account metrics - e.g. total revenue, customer satisfaction.
  • Highlight significant cross-business unit risks, opportunities and threats within the account, and ensure appropriate resolution.
  • Lead major captures in pursuit of opportunities identified by account strategy.
  • Liaise with Roke project delivery teams to ensure customer satisfaction across the spectrum of DSTL facing activities.

Essential
  • Credible engaging stakeholders at all levels, and from all backgrounds, within DSTL and within Roke.
  • Understanding of Account Management best practices.
  • Experience of defining and executing long-term strategies whilst demonstrating incremental near-term success.
  • Collaboration across business domains and business areas to enable organisational success.
Desirable
  • Existing understanding of the DSTL organisation and associated network of contacts in MoD and Industry
  • Understanding of broader MoD Research and Development activities, including how S&T activity is commissioned.
  • Experience of working in a matrix-organisation account management structure
  • Understanding of both business winning and delivery
  • Understanding of account marketing and communication approaches

Clearances

Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC or in some cases, DV Clearance. As a result, you must be a Sole British national by birth and have been resident in the U.K. for the last 5 or 10 years.
