Transport Controller Required

Our client is a leading coach hire and passenger transport solutions provider in the UK. Due to ongoing success and profitable business wins, our client requires an experienced Transport Controller to join a dynamic and growing team.

Job Summary:

The Transport Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our passenger transport services. This role involves overseeing the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles, managing driver rotas, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The successful candidate will be expected to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, consisting of 12-hour days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily scheduling and dispatching of vehicles to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Manage and support drivers, including the creation and maintenance of driver rotas and handling any operational issues that arise.
• Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Serve as the main point of contact for drivers and other operational staff, providing guidance and resolving any issues promptly.
• Track and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
• Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained, addressing any customer complaints or issues effectively.
• Prepare and present regular reports on transport operations to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a transport control or similar role.
• Knowledge of the passenger transport sector would be highly beneficial.
• Strong understanding of transport operations, scheduling, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Competent in using transport management software and standard office applications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to managing operational challenges.
• Willingness to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays as required.
