Role: Teaching Assistant - SEMH

MLK Search is excited to present this exciting opportunity for a charismatic, engaging Teaching Assistant to join their SEMH provision in Wolverhampton supporting 5–19 year olds with SEMH and associated needs (ASD and ADHD).

They are seeking to appoint a confident, dynamic, and inspirational person who can inspire students to achieve positive learning outcomes, regardless of the challenges they face.

Role Details

• Supporting teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
• Working 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
• Assisting students in educational and social development.
• Providing support in and out of the classroom, so they can fully engage in all activities.
• Setting up activities for students, using technology and adjusting environments to suit.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

• GCSE equivalent to C/4 in Maths and English
• Level 2 Qualification and above would be highly desirable
• Successful experience within a similar setting supporting students with SEN
• Ability to build relationships with staff and students
• Understanding of EHCPs and the SEN Code of Practice highly desirable
