An outstanding SEND school in Ealing are looking for a qualified music teacher to join their school from September to teach across their secondary provision. 

The Role

In this role you will be based in the secondary school provision teaching music for students ages 11 – 16 years who have a diagnosis of autism. Students are based in classes of 8 according to peer relationships and ability level. Music is a positive and important part of the school and supporting learners in their development and enjoyment. You will be working alongside other teachers at the school and will work closely to ensure you are delivering positive outcomes for all pupils.

The school are looking for a qualified teacher who has knowledge and experience of teaching Music to students with SEND. You should have a flexible and creative approach with good planning, assessment skills.

Your role will include: 

  • Planning and delivering music lessons and activities to meet the needs of learners
  • Setting up and leading school events / musical performances
  • Managing support staff
  • Working closely with other departments to strengthen arts offerings
  •  Communication with parents/carers
  • A commitment to the safeguarding of all the school’s students and an understanding of the arrangements and procedures required to achieve effective safeguarding.

This welcoming SEND school is based in Ealing and specialises in supporting learners from 4 to 22 years old with autism. Rated outstanding by Ofsted the school provides a creative and supportive education to 70 students. The vast majority of pupils have a diagnosis of autism and the school is tailored to meet pupils needs in specialist environment led by dedicated and well-trained staff. Alongside teachers, the school’s staff team includes psychologists, behaviour specialists and therapists. The school offers excellent career development opportunities and training in a busy, vibrant and caring community. The school is easily accessible by car and public transport.
