Job Title – Senior Cost Engineer

Morson are currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Engineer to become part of one of the leading infrastructure solutions firms, entrusted with delivering a segment of the East Coast Cluster, which aims to decarbonize the Teesside and Humber regions and establish a platform for economic growth. The role is based in Teesside with 3 days minimum onsite and comes with a competitive salary, along with additional benefits including a car allowance, pension plan, and private medical insurance.

Skills and experience:
• Degree/HNC/HND ideally in quantity surveying or construction / engineering related discipline or relevant experience.
• Demonstrate expertise in Excel and experience with various bespoke cost management software systems.
• Control, monitor, analyse, and report on cost-related aspects for designated projects within a portfolio.
• Implement earned value management.
• Manage cost control and forecasting.
• Prepare project reports.

Role Responsibilities:
• Monitor, control, and analyse project cost data, identify variances, and present these to the Project Manager along with potential solutions. Prepare detailed reports to support analysis and meet the projects specific needs.
• Collect, verify, and submit staff costs to the commercial team for payment applications.
• Provide actual costs compared to planned costs for CPI calculation.
• Deliver weekly and monthly cost and hours reports, including planned, actual, and forecasted figures.
• Ensure the Estimates at Completion (EAC) are projected using industry-standard methods, such as the latest resource schedules and EVM productivity, to maintain accurate, reliable, and consistent forecasting.
