Deputy Manager - Kings Norton, Birmingham - £14 per hour

A well established Supported Living Facility in Birmingham is looking for the latest addidtion to their team. Please see role details below:

Title: Deputy Manager

Salary/Hourly Rate: £14.03 per hour

Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham

Contracted Hours per week: 42

Daily start and finish time: Varies, shift work on days between the hours of 7am and 10pm will include at least one weekend a month

Size of Service: Up to six service users, the Deputy Manager is supernumary and responsible for the homes day to day running reporting to the Assistant and Registered Managers.

Age Range of Service Users: Younger adults – Learning disabilities, challenging behaviour

The Role

  • Working 42 hours per week on a flexible shift system, which will include long days and at least one weekend per month, the successful Deputy Manager will assist the Registered Manager and the Assistant Manager in the day to day running of the home.  
  • Offer support in the recruitment and selection of the staff team, manage the induction process, and ensure that all the company policies, procedures and legal requirements are adhered to at all times. 
  • Participate in assessing and planning to meet the individual service user’s needs. 
  • Conduct audits to ensure that the home is exceeding the essential standards of quality and safety. 
  • Offer guidance and support to members of the staff team, conduct one to one meetings and chair staff and service user meetings when required. 
  • The post holder will also take part in the on-call rota.
  • Due to the nature of the role, an enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this position.

Necessary Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Applicants will hold the Leadership in Care Services Level 5 Diploma or an equivalent care qualification.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills developed in a similar setting is essential as is extensive experience working with vulnerable adults with a learning disability and/or mental health conditions and complex needs.
