Group Financial Accountant

NXTGEN are working with an internationally trading market leader in Peterborough to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This highly visible role will see the successful candidate deliver technical reports for the group, whilst also working with a high volume of stakeholders on a variety of reporting queries. As Group Financial Accountant, you will work closely with subsidiary businesses to ensure the timely delivery of month end accounts for consolidation, before reporting on performance vs plan and a full P&L overview. Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Manage the delivery of month end reports and consolidate group accounts, working with subsidiary business to ensure group reporting deadlines are achieved
- Review all intercompany transactions to maintain ledger integrity, including the review of non trading companies
- Analyse and review current financial reporting controls and work on projects to improve the quality of reporting within the group
- Act as the technical reporting specialist within the group, providing advice to department leads when required
- Build strong working relationships with BU leads across the group, supporting with reporting projects as and when required
The successful candidate will ideally be a recently qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with prior experience gained within practice highly desirable. The position is also well suited to those looking to make their first move from practice to industry. A good technical accounting knowledge will be key and any experience to both UK GAAP and IFRS would be advantageous. Candidates will be confident dealing with stakeholders at all levels for this high profile role and you will be able to demonstrate good Excel skills. Salary - £50'000 - £55'000 depending on experience.
