Purpose of the role

  • The Integrated Management System (IMS) provides the structure to manage Health and Safety, Environment and Quality (Sustainability), across the business. The system needs to be well maintained and effectively communicated to all staff.
  • The role of Sustainability Reporting & Data Analyst plays a key part in the maintenance and development of the IMS, ensuring functionality of the software systems being used.
  • Data on performance is gathered through the IMS and SHEQ software systems and reported to the business, and key stakeholders.  This includes statistical data on Sustainability and the IMS.
  • A core part of this role is managing the data and reporting on it.
  • Development of sustainability knowledge in order to support the Sustainability Dept. and Operations

Key accountabilities

  • Lead on the development and maintenance of software systems used for the IMS, ensuring they are fit for purpose in association with software manufacturers and liaise with UK and Global IT over the testing and installation of new versions. This will include Intelex (AID), Entropy, Checkproof and any replacement software, SAP, internal intranet and bespoke systems, databases and Excel spreadsheets.
  • In relation to the above software maintain effective document control, adding and deleting documents and communicating changes to users and administering the access rights of personnel around the business.
  • Develop and co-ordinate the front end presentation and organisation of all IMS and associated systems to facilitate easy use.
  • Oversee, maintain, develop and report on systems to manage all departmental data.
  • Provide leading and lagging SHE data to the Head of H&S to support strategy and development of campaigns
  • Oversee and contribute to the preparation and implementation of internal monthly / quarterly reports and business line Management Reviews, on Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) performance from the management systems and associated databases to deadlines. To include analysis and presentation of data reports which are clear and easy to understand.
  • Lead in collation of data for external sustainability reporting including the annual Sustainability Report (e.g. energy management, water consumption and biodiversity.) and other regular updates for stakeholders.  Carry out regular checks for accuracy of data.
  • Support the wider Sustainability team in the handling of data required to include checking of information for accuracy and presenting it to third parties including external audit presentations.
  • Collate data from the business and prepare reports as required for responsible sourcing certification (BES 6001).
  • Manage data collation and compile sustainability data sets for trade associations such as MPA.
  • Carry out training of business support staff as necessary to ensure understanding of data needed and accurate input of data into the established systems is available to all personnel.
  • Monitor progress with Company Objectives, Targets and Key Performance indicators (KPI’s) and ensure data is available to the business lines to track progress.
  • Support the development of sustainable construction and reporting methods within the business (eg EPD and product lifecycle analysis) tracking new methodologies to ensure our data systems meet commercial needs.
  • Prepare and deliver, where required, training materials and case studies to promote sustainability improvements and awareness within the business

Education/Qualification

  • Degree or Other Equivalent Higher Qualification in any STEM subject
  • IEMA/NEBOSH certificate beneficial
