Design Engineer

• With technical manager potential or existing experience.

Circa £50K (negotiable) plus Senior Management bonus scheme.

M5 Gloucestershire – Hybrid working 60 / 40.

My client is recognised around the World as the leading company in the field of heavy-duty Crane Rail Fastening Systems utilised in niche markets. For over 50 years they have been devoted to solving the problems and providing solutions associated with the installation and fixing of steel rails to structures across all industries.

The company, (part of an International Group) is profitable, continues to invest in R & D and will shortly be moving to new premises, close to the M5, to enhance the working environment to its close knit and dedicated employee’s.

The UK company is led by a small, but proactive Senior Management Team. There is a role in this team for a Technical Manager (or Engineer who aspires to be a Technical Manager); Are you ready for the challenge?

Reporting to the Managing Director, the new Technical Manager will lead and inspire the small technical team of this business as well as providing support to key stakeholders, such as direct customers, agents, distributors and civil/structural engineering consultants who are specifying and using the products.

The company use SolidWorks in the design of their products and AutoCAD LT for onsite layout drawings. Competency in one/both of these CAD systems along with excellent knowledge of Excel spreadsheets for automated calculations will be essential for this role.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is technically sound, a lateral thinker and is open to new ideas and technology. In addition, we are looking for someone who is commercially aware, customer focused and has probably already worked in a small company where variety is the attraction. 

As already mentioned, the company is located just off the M5 in Gloucestershire. The choice of accommodation is varied and affordable and the social scene for both family and non-family orientated people is second to none
