One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a CCTV Operations Centre Co-ordinator. This is a temporary contract for 7 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.

Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary

The post holder will coordinate the day-to-day functions of our multifunctional Operations Centre. The service is 24/7, and therefore you will be required at times to work outside of normal office hours and provide a level of flexibility to suit operational needs.

The Operations Centre oversees areas including, but not limited to, borough-wide CCTV monitoring and surveillance including rapid deployment cameras, Responder services for elderly, Alarms monitoring and management, Cycle Hubs management, manned security, lone worker solution, remote door access, key holding, Met Police liaison and provision of body worn cameras and radios, Critical Incident & Emergency Planning response/coordination etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure effective communication of all matters pertaining to the delivery of services.
  • Oversee the effective use and maintenance of physical security equipment (CCTV, Access Control, Alarms, Communication equipment etc) and use of security systems and various platforms installed.
  • Support departments and customers, ensuring all aspects of CCTV and use for prevention requirements are effectively managed.
  • Manage the day-to-day Operations Centre. Including CCTV and Security / Alarm systems installed, ensuring that all staff are fully trained and qualified.
  • Manage the reporting of incidents related to rapid CCTV deployment and wider CCTV.
  • Ensure staffing is at the required level, Prioritising resources to key periods with shifts covered with fully trained and qualified staff members.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance, invoking contingency planning arrangements, as appropriate, and engaging stakeholder’s actively and effectively.
  • Ensure Operations Centre staff are trained, qualified and competent to deliver services in line with relevant legislation, guidance, codes of practice and procedures.
  • Compile the Rota for staff and approve absences ensuring cover is available.
  • Provide cover when necessary 24/7 in the event of shift manager absence or planned leave.
