As a Project Support Officer in the Good growth Coordination Team, , you'll be part of a dynamic and centralised strategic team working with five diverse and thriving policy units.
Good Growth is responsible for delivering and implementing the Mayor's environment, transport, and economic strategies and the London Plan. The Directorate is also responsible for regeneration (where the programme is not housing led), and culture and creative industries city-wide.
This role is central to the Good Growth Coordination team which is responsible for bringing together the five units through effective systems, clear communication, nurturing community, and championing innovation and inclusivity. As a small, dynamic and ambitious team, there’s great opportunity to have a big impact in this role.
You will help us enable collaboration and innovation, build foundations for greater efficiency, and facilitate stronger more inclusive cultures for all our 300 plus colleagues in Good Growth. You’ll be involved in a variety of projects including working directly with policy teams and the senior leadership team, supporting directorate-wide initiatives, and planning and facilitating exciting workshops and events.

Principal accountabilities
Support facilitation of directorate events, such as workshops, project visits, conferences, and meetings – maintaining membership lists, managing diary invitations, being key point of contact, providing tech facilitation, capturing key messages, maintaining action logs, minute taking, supporting evaluation and communications
Supporting the effective running of senior strategic and operational leadership meetings including secretariat support, supporting logistics and communications, managing diary invitations and action plans.
Support the planning and delivery of directorate special projects/programmes including EDI workstreams through managing spreadsheets, project/action plans, diary invitations, supporting logistics and communications.
Support the delivery of directorate communications and engagement strategy, including collecting data, producing reports, drafting communications, managing timelines, and action plans, maintaining intranet content and acting as key point of contact.
Support effective running of the coordination team, including acting as key point of contact, supporting team meetings, maintaining action logs, and coordinating reporting and communications, and providing cover to other officers as required.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, identifying ways to make directorate practices and processes more efficient and effective.
Perform the role in accordance with the GLA’s policies and code of ethic and standards, including health and safety.
Manage staff and resources in allocated to the job in accordance with the Authority’s policies and Code of Ethics and Standards.
Realise the benefits of a flexible approach to work in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job, and participating in multi-disciplinary, cross-department and cross-organisational groups and project teams.
Person specification
Technical requirements/experience/qualifications
Experience of managing or supporting project and/or event delivery, working with a broad range of stakeholder and using project management and collaboration tools such as action plans, Gantt charts, and dashboards.
Well-developed IT skills and competent with digital tools including Microsoft Office and 365 as well as proficiency in using communication tools such as intranets and collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams and project management systems and processes.
Experience working in a large complex organisation.

This role is based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL)
GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
