Our leading engineering client, renowned for their cutting-edge technologies, is seeking a talented Programme Manager to join their dynamic team in Horsham. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead complex projects and contribute to the advancement of defence technologies.

Position: Programme Manager
Location: Plymouth, UK
Salary: £75,000 per annum
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain SC Clearance having lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years

About the Role:

As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for leading high-performing teams in an agile, fast-paced, and collaborative working culture. You will oversee the development and delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and are completed on time and within budget. Your role will involve continuous improvement initiatives, stakeholder management, and maintaining project plans using Microsoft Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide high-performing teams to operate within an agile, fast-paced, and collaborative working culture.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of complex engineering projects, particularly within the defence or aerospace industry.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence and efficiency.
  • Manage project plans, timelines, and budgets using Microsoft Project.
  • Interact with and manage international stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project goals.
  • Apply strong commercial acumen to make informed decisions that drive project success.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure project objectives are met.

Key Experience and Skills:

  • Recognised project management qualification.
  • Proven experience of leading and guiding high-performing teams in an agile, fast-paced, and collaborative working culture.
  • Extensive experience in a continuous improvement environment, coupled with a personal drive for continuous improvement.
  • Background in engineering development, particularly of complex systems and projects, ideally within the defence or aerospace industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience creating and maintaining project plans using Microsoft Project.
  • Proven experience in working with and managing international stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
