Day Shift Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4.45pm

Night Shift – 9.45pm – 7.30am

The Company:

We are working with an established, leading heavy engineering & automotive manufacture who are looking to recruit a new Production Supervisor.

Oversees production labour and facilities in their designated work area. Organises and monitors workflow on the production floor. Strives to improve employee efficiency to maximise production output and profits. Ensures production floor is clean and safe for all staff members.

Job Description

  • Achievement of the Targets of Production, Quality & Delivery at the lowest Cost while ensuring Safety.
  • Work closely with peers across other departments to meet and exceed business targets.
  • Support High Performance Organization through a focus on development and training of the production team in the work area.
  • Standardise and improve all activities by establishing best operation methods as standards in the workplace, ensure they are followed and improved.
  • Develop and invest in employees, own and maintain the skills matrix for the production area.
  • Support all production initiatives such as: Built-in-Quality, Continuous Improvements Process and performance scorecards.
  • Allocate shop floor resources to ensure production schedule and departmental schedules are met in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Obtain and utilize data to determine abnormal conditions that conflict with the production schedule. Take corrective action on any adverse trends or occurrences which may affect build schedule and/or OTD.
  • Ensure departmental adherence to company policies, procedures, and trade union agreement.
  • Actively lead investigation and reconciliation of stock discrepancies e.g., negative stocks when identified by the planning function in a timely fashion.
  • Work with the team to ensure the production schedule is met on time to standard and quality and cost whilst ensuring staffing and resources are met.
  • Establish work area productivity/process improvements; work with all stakeholders to identify constraints; drive 6S and Lean Manufacturing principles on the shop floor.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture with all Production Team Members and improve flow, reduce WIP to drive On-time delivery improvements and expense reduction efforts.
  • Drive initiatives such as: Metric reporting, visual shop floor and built-in-quality programs.
  • Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve production goals.
  • Ensuring key performance indicators are in place and production targets are met.
  • Implementation of any new policies and procedures relating to the production process.

Skills & Experience:

  • Manufacturing/Production background combined with proven experience leading a team.
  • Ability to drive and motivate the team to ensure schedule, metrics, and objectives are achieved.
  • Strong on TPM / 6s / OEE / Productivity management / Process Improvements / Maintenance.
  • Good degree of computer skills.
  • ERP Knowledge.
  • Proven leadership skills are essential.
  • Ability to deal with performance issues knowledge of disciplinary procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required as is the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential for identifying and resolving problems.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet requirements of position.
