About the Role:

Are you a passionate foodie with a flair for innovation? Join the team as NPD Manager, where you'll drive and deliver new products for best-in-class customers. We're seeking a highly driven and customer-oriented individual to lead the team in launching innovative products through a creative and forward-thinking approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the focused development of new products, ensuring they meet required margins for both customers and the business.
  • Complete development costings within agreed commercial, technical, and customer briefs and timescales.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager and Category Manager to understand market trends and consumer needs, supporting the delivery of Category Reviews.
  • Innovate and create new products aligned with business plans and market developments, showcasing your flair for food and culinary trends.
  • Inspire and excite both customers and the business with innovations that drive extraordinary growth and profit.
  • Challenge and upgrade existing products and processes where necessary.
  • Manage the development process from concept origination to product handover, meeting all internal and external deadlines.
  • Keep the development team informed about culinary trends through various activities, including shopping trips, travel, restaurant visits, exhibitions, and reading food journals and magazines.

About You:

  • Strong understanding of the food marketplace, including products, consumers, and competitors.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Solid background in NPD with a keen eye for innovation and a genuine passion for food.
  • Proven experience in a development or development management role, with a thorough understanding of all stages in product development.
  • Experience supporting major retailers
  • A creative foodie with a commercial focus, able to blend creativity with an understanding of full-scale production practicalities.
