Project Manager – High Quality, Garden Landscapes

Salary £45,000 to £50,000 + Vehicle

You will have a pivotal role in this successful Garden Landscape Construction Company and be responsible for some of the most innovative and unique, luxury gardens in the country. They operate in the “super prime” sector with project values from £½m to over £10m and are renowned for the quality of their Garden Landscapes. Many projects are associated with major property renovations in central London that include the construction of extensive basements and a huge range of garden structures. This is therefore a role that requires the closest attention to detail coupled with a good horticultural knowledge and a sound understanding of construction and civils work.

The Job:

You will have full responsibility for a project site and act as the main point of contact for your team, the company and the other construction companies on site. Most sites will be professionally designed garden projects comprising the construction of hard landscaping elements and detailed soft planting that includes specialist plants and mature trees. You will work together with your site teams to translate the design plans into another of the company’s outstanding Garden creations. Beyond the immediate landscaping and construction your duties will include

• Supervise, schedule and audit the work on your site
• Be the main point of contact for clients, coordinate sub-contractors and liaise with suppliers
• Ensure that all projects are completed on time, on budget and to specification
• Ensure that your sites are safe tidy and comply with all H&S regulations
• Manage your teams, recruiting staff
• Developing the business to create new opportunities for the company

The Person:

You will probably have over 5 years’ experience in the construction of garden landscapes, ideally coming from a role “on the tools” and with a practical knowledge of hard landscaping. Your background will enable you to accurately use design and construction drawings. You will have a knowledge of landscape construction and materials together with project management principles and urban construction sites. As a principle “face of the company” you will be professional in your approach and eminently capable in your communications with both Clients and Staff.
