Person Requirements of the Site Engineering Manager:

  • Time served engineer, preferably from the FMCG Industry.
  • Recognised Engineering qualification e.g. HNC/HND/ONC/OND or Degree.
  • Accustomed to fast paced and challenging working environments.
  • People and Performance Management experience.
  • Multi-site experience. 

Job Requirements of the Site Engineering Manager:

The ideal Engineering Manager will have a strong background in the manufacturing and engineering sector and be accustomed to fast paced environments.

  • Work in partnership with both Factory Managers, engineering team, team leaders, planners and other areas to carry out repairs to process equipment and plant machinery.
  • People Management and Performance Management - implement plans to improve performance of under performing colleagues, as well as career development plans to recognise top performers. 
  • Conducting and decisioning effective recruitment practises to ensure the best talent joins and is retained by the business, working with agreed recruitment suppliers. 
  • Work closely with the Factory Managers of both sites to identify opportunities to drive improvements or cost savings with processes. 
  • Supporting with improvements and departmental 5S programmes. 
  • Become competent and agile with the use of the internal CMMS, supporting preventative and daily team maintenance activity. 
  • Set an example to the wider team on best practise and actively challenge behaviours. 
  • Manage the team of Maintenance Technicians, Team Leaders and coordinators. 
  • Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance schedules.
  • Following site H&S procedures and reporting any risks via the internal reporting process.
