GBR Recruitment Limited are delighted to be exclusively working with an Agricultural Farming Buying Group, recruiting for an experienced multi-category Procurement Manager to undertake direct purchasing on behalf of this Buying Groups Farming members.

This key role will secure products & services at volume discounts / rebates, enabling the organisation to pass on these preferential discounted rates to the end using member, giving them more value for their money.

The Procurement Manager will play an integral part in the Buying Group achieving its revenue growth plan over the next 5 years, with a target to grow the business by a further 20% (minimum).

You will drive transformational change, by developing & implementing strategic high volume procurement frameworks (Group & Regional) across a highly diverse range of products & service categories, to deliver true cost savings & real added value to the Agri / Farming community the organisation serves (1,000’s of members).

This fantastic opportunity would suit a Procurement professional, ideally from a Group Purchasing Organisation (GPO), a Buying Group, a Collective Buying Organisation, a Farming Co-operative or similar business, where products & services are purchased in high volumes.

You’ll ideally have Agricultural, Farming, Ground care or Agronomy sectors experience (or similar), working as a Procurement Specialist, Procurement Officer, Procurement Analyst, Purchasing Manager, Sourcing Manager, Lead Buyer, Senior Buyer, Buyer or similar, with previous exposure to a vast mix of different product & service categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Centralise & professionalise high volume procurement, across all products & services categories, driving a consistent approach, promoting best practice & a focus on strong business acumen, negotiating the best prices & preferential supply terms & conditions.
  • Utilise the organisations high level spending power & high-volume purchasing strategy to secure optimal pricing terms from suppliers (% discounts, rebates & reduced levy).
  • Develop & Implement coordinated direct sourcing strategies, that maximise value benefits from multi-line suppliers, through strategic & cost-effective supplier partnerships, that are mutually beneficial for the organisation, the supplier & member.
  • Use the organisations spending power to significantly reduce prices (unit costs).
  • Establish effective procurement metrics formulated around cost savings, supplier performance / fulfilment levels, supplier quality of products & sustainability of products, focused on a continuous improvement methodology.
  • Work closely with all Business Category Sector Heads in negotiating the best supplier deals, that add real tangible value to the Organisation & can be passed on to its members, in terms of reduced expenditure levels & increased efficiencies.
  • Lead all cross-functional sourcing activity, as well as providing procurement training to upskill the wider team in professional procurement negotiations, strong cost control measures & effective supplier management, promoting a LEAN methodology.
  • Reporting into the CEO & Board, plus supporting them in achieving the 20% revenue growth plan, by delivering strategic & operational procurement excellence.

Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, Procurement Officer, Procurement Analyst, Purchasing Manager, Sourcing Manager, Lead Buyer, Senior Buyer, Buyer or similar with previous exposure to differing product & service categories.
  • Exceptional purchasing negotiation skills, with the ability to structure & execute complex multi-factor supplier agreements across an array of categories.
  • Strategic & Commercially focused mindset with the ability to drive forward overarching sourcing strategies that achieve maximum value & maximum savings / discounts for the organisations farming members you represent.
  • Highly skilled in implementing effective buying strategies, policies & processes.
  • Strongly adept at delivering sourcing provision change management programs & securing business wide engagement for all procurement protocols.
  • Ideally you will have had some exposure to Agriculture, Farming, Agronomy, Ground care, Arboriculture, Fuel, Building Materials, Waste & Recycling, Plant Hire, Energy or similar products & services procurement.
  • Ideally you will be CIPS level 4 or CIPS level 5 qualified or time served in a comparable purchasing role.
  • Previous experience of working in a group purchasing organisation (GPO), a Buying Group, a Collective Buying organisation, a Farming Co-operative or similar business, where products & services are purchased in high volumes would be advantageous.
  • You will be a professional communicator with a strong commercial acumen.

This role is commutable from: Lincoln, Grimsby, Horncastle, Mablethorpe, Sutton on Sea, Skegness, Bardney, Wragby, Market Rasen, Alford, Gainsborough, Brigg, Boston, Sleaford, Spilsby, Scunthorpe, Caistor, Nettleham, Immingham, Humberston & areas close to these.
