The Role:

There will be a requirement to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe to see the Turnkey Projects through to completion.

  • Your main responsibilities will focus on the delivery of the Turnkey Engineering package that accompanies the Machine Tool sale.
  • This will typically include planning of Machining Strategy, CNC programming, attaining First Article Inspection and completing all Acceptance Criteria.
  • The Application Engineer will also be responsible for Customer Training with respect to Machine Operation and Programming.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must have sound engineering background and a minimum of 4 years’ experience within a Machine Tool environment as a Production Engineer or a Machine Tool Setter/Operator.
  • A good understanding of NC programming language is important, and in particular, knowledge of both Fanuc & Okuma based Controls would be advantageous, although not essential.
  • Exposure to CAM packages for NC program generation and Machine Simulation would be beneficial and a willingness to embrace new technology is paramount.
  • The candidate will require excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have a high degree of self-motivation.
  • They will need to be able to work independently and manage their time effectively to achieve project milestones and be equally as comfortable as part of a team.
