Our  client are seeking an experienced Multiskilled Resident Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team in the Coventry area. This person will play a pivotal role in performing hands-on maintenance, repair, and improvement of their machinery and equipment.

Duties:

  • Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose the problem, and perform repairs or coordinate with external specialists when necessary.
  • Carry out machine adjustments and changeovers.
  • Monitor and calibrate equipment.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, including conveyors, motors, sorting and packaging equipment.
  • Experience in robotics is desirable.
  • Understanding of PLC and able to recognise faults. (Programming not needed).
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of equipment reliability.
  •  Excellent communication skills.
  • A can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
