NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician – Fuel tanks

Permanent contract

Location: National role – company van, fuel card, travel expenses provided

Our client is a leading environmental consultancy dedicated to assisting organisations in safeguarding the environment, minimising operational disruptions, and achieving sustainability goals.

We are seeking an experienced NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician to join our client’s growing team. In this role, you will perform non-destructive testing on tanks, pipelines, and similar infrastructure, using advanced techniques and equipment. Your responsibilities will include data collection, analysis, and reporting, along with providing recommendations for repair and maintenance solutions.

The role

  • Conduct tests to assess the condition and integrity of tanks, pipelines, and similar structures, determining their lifespan and quality.
  • Prepare, organise, and deliver detailed reports with findings and recommendations for repair, replacement, or other corrective actions.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained, fully functional, and compliant with safety regulations; arrange for repairs and servicing when necessary.
  • Prioritise tasks efficiently to meet customer demands.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales contracts for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients, ensuring regular communication and engagement.
  • Share insights on new products, services, and market developments with the relevant company teams.
  • Handle accurate and timely documentation to activate and maintain contract services.
  • Stay informed about the ISO/IEC 17020 standard and its application in various inspection activities.

The person

  • Proficient in all NDT disciplines and standards.
  • Deep understanding of tank design and construction processes.
  • Experience with CAD software is a plus.
  • Flexible and eager to work on exciting projects in diverse environments.
  • Professional communicator, able to engage and consult with clients of all levels
  • Full and clean driving licence
  • Able to work away from home Monday - Friday
