Contract: Essex Highways

Join our client, Ringway Jacobs, to design and implement structural maintenance and refurbishment on Highway Structures. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you'll manage bridge data, emergency call-outs, NRSWA compliance, and budget control while mentoring junior staff.

Your role involves working on structure refurbishment, assessment, and replacement projects, using your expertise in structural design codes, DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations to deliver high-quality results.

The Role

• Support Health and Safety, Environmental Management System, Quality Management System and Construction
• Design Management in a positive and constructive manner, with the aim of minimising work-related injuries by implementing Essex Highways policies and procedures
• Prepare design, planning, programme highway structures works and services
• Offer advice and expertise in the delivery of work based on engineering knowledge and experience
• Provide timely and accurate advice to County Councillors, District Members, Parish Councils, and the public on all structures-related matters as required
• Understand the overall functions, aims and directions of Essex Highways, and how the structures service fits into those objectives

About You

• ​Design knowledge with Eurocodes and modern standards, DMRB
• Knowledge and application of Health and Safety legislation including Construction (Design & Management) Regulations
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with people both internally and our supply chain partners
• Hold a valid driving licence as attending site visits will be required
