About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced 3rd Line Support Specialist to join our Technology Operations team. In this role, you will provide expert-level technical advice and support, working closely with the Technical Systems Manager and Head of Technical Operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective delivery of technical services to our customers, focusing on the infrastructure, servers, systems, communications, and services.

As a 3rd Line Support Specialist, you will manage and coordinate team activities, promote best practices, and ensure that service targets are consistently met. You will play a key role in diagnosing and resolving complex and high-risk issues, as well as analyzing persistent problems to provide long-term solutions. Additionally, you will contribute your expertise to technical teams and projects, ensuring the stability and scalability of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems to maintain service levels, collaborating with users, staff, the Service Desk, and suppliers as needed.
  • Provide 3rd Line technical support to operational and project teams, offering your expertise to resolve issues and guide best practices.
  • Carry out complex configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of servers, storage, and communications platforms for business-as-usual changes and projects.
  • Recommend and implement standards for configurations, tools, and products.
  • Define and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including standards, security protocols, procedures, and configuration details.
  • Utilize management software and analysis tools to collect system statistics, model performance, and generate reports, including proposals for improvement and capacity planning.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in leadership and staff development within a technical/support team environment, with a track record of directing others effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed reports and deliver presentations to a wide audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information to staff at all levels.
  • Exceptional report and documentation skills, capable of conveying information in a concise and logical manner.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to meet project and business requirements.
  • Expert technical experience in a wide variety of Server, Storage, and Networking technologies at a 3rd Line Support level.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices, with a strong understanding of MOD standards and accreditation processes.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Servers, Virtualization technologies, enterprise storage solutions, and other infrastructure technologies in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience in supporting Cloud technologies.
