Social House Building - Houses & Apartments across Yorkshire and East Midlands

A leading company in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their social housing division. This role involves working on the development of houses and apartment blocks across Yorkshire and the East Midlands. If you have a background in quantity surveying and a passion for making a positive impact through social housing, this opportunity is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for social housing projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that developments are completed within budget.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate costing and financial planning.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, validate costs, and manage any variations to contracts.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the social housing or residential construction sector.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and project costs effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, legislation, and industry standards.
