We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary PE Teacher (SEN) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about physical education and has a strong commitment to supporting the physical and emotional development of children with SEN. You will be responsible for teaching the primary curriculum to SEND pupils (MLD, ASD, SEMH), in small classes of up to 12 children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of physical activities that cater to the diverse needs of our students, fostering a love for physical activity and promoting overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Deliver PE Lessons: Create and implement engaging PE lessons that are accessible and enjoyable for all students, taking into account their individual needs and abilities.
  • Adapt Activities: Modify physical activities and sports to ensure inclusivity, allowing all students to participate safely and confidently.
  • Assess Progress: Monitor and assess students' physical development, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their personal goals.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education and well-being.
  • Promote Physical Health: Encourage a healthy lifestyle among students through education on fitness, nutrition, and the benefits of regular physical activity.
  • Engage with Parents/Carers: Communicate regularly with parents and carers about their child's progress, celebrating successes and addressing any concerns.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, with a specialization in Physical Education preferred.
  • Experience with SEN: Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of SEN Best Practices: A strong understanding of strategies to support children with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Passion for PE: A genuine love for physical education and the ability to inspire and motivate students to engage in physical activity.
