A leading distributor of chemical ingredients to the European personal care industry are currently looking for a sales executive / sales manager to join their high performing team.

The successful individual will bring with them prior commercial experience from a personal care end product manufacturer or other chemical distributor and although the role will be of a hybrid nature, the individual will be based in the vicinity of the Buckinghamshire area.

Key responsibilities:

• Developing strong technical understanding of our wide range of Personal Care ingredients, their chemistry, benefits and formulation characteristics.
• Understanding the needs of each of customer.
• Communicating scientific information clearly and concisely.
• Supporting customers throughout their development process, from concept to product launch.
• Visiting UK customers to develop long-term working relationships with their R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams.
• Maintaining existing business and creating new opportunities with customers in the portfolio
• Helping the Technical Development Chemists to create new Personal Care formulations that demonstrate the benefits of products.
• Identifying new business opportunities
• Attending relevant Cosmetic and Toiletry industry meetings, seminars, exhibitions and symposia to increase knowledge of the Personal Care industry.

Skills, experience and qualifications:

• A strong scientific education and preferably a degree in a scientific subject
• Proven experience within technical sales or account management with a personal care product manufacturer or chemical distributor
• The ability to learn and understand new technologies
• A scientific approach to problem solving
• The ability to work under pressure
• Full UK driving licence
• The ability and aspiration to travel
