Role Overview:

As a Technical Field-Based Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our engineering solutions on production lines. You will work closely with our clients, providing onsite technical support and ensuring that our products operate at peak performance. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer service acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of our engineering solutions on production lines, ensuring they are set up and functioning according to specifications.
  • Technical Support: Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers, diagnosing and resolving issues related to our products and ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct regular preventative maintenance on installed equipment to prevent breakdowns, and perform repairs as necessary to keep production lines running smoothly.
  • Customer Training: Train customer personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our equipment, ensuring they are fully equipped to manage day-to-day operations.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service visits, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities, and ensure that all technical documentation is up to date.
  • Product Feedback: Gather and report feedback from customers on the performance of our products, providing insights to the engineering and product development teams for continuous improvement.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations while working onsite, ensuring a safe environment for both yourself and the customer’s personnel.
  • Travel: Regular travel to customer sites is required, with occasional overnight stays depending on project demands.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background: A degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in a field-based engineering role, particularly in the installation and maintenance of equipment on production lines.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to varying work schedules.
  • Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.
