We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Sales Manager to join our team and drive business growth in the West Midlands area.

Job Overview:
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and expanding our market presence within the assigned territory. This role requires a deep understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic hose systems, combined with strong sales acumen and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure the achievement of sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development:
    Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory, focusing on hydraulic solutions including hoses, components, and systems. Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing expert advice and support.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Leverage your knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic hoses to provide technical support and guidance to customers. Assist in selecting the right products and solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Market Analysis:
    Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities. Use this information to adjust sales strategies and identify new markets.
  • Sales Reporting:
    Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management. Use data to analyze sales trends and develop action plans to address any shortfalls.
  • Product Training & Support:
    Provide training and technical support to customers on the use and maintenance of hydraulic products. Ensure customers are fully informed about product features, benefits, and applications.
  • Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with the internal sales team, marketing, and technical departments to ensure a coordinated approach to customer service and sales. Share insights and feedback to help improve products and services.
  • Client Visits & Presentations:
    Regularly visit clients and potential customers within the assigned territory to present products, discuss needs, and negotiate sales contracts. Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company.
  • Compliance & Ethics:
    Adhere to all company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all business activities. Maintain the company’s reputation for integrity and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    Proven experience in sales within the hydraulics industry, specifically with hydraulic hoses and related products. A strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    In-depth understanding of hydraulics, hydraulic hose systems, and associated components. Ability to provide technical advice and support to customers.
  • Sales Skills:
    Strong sales acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, and close deals. Experience in negotiating contracts and managing key accounts.
  • Communication:
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers at all levels. Confident in delivering presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Analytical Skills:
    Ability to analyze market trends, sales data, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Self-Motivated:
    A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Travel:
    Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory to visit clients and attend industry events.
