Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work with students with autism and other learning disabilities to work in a Special School in Stoke Newington!

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment and providing personalized support to help students thrive.

Responsibilities

SEN Teaching Assistants have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism and learning disabilities
  • Assist with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene routines
  • Implement individualized education plans and behaviour management strategies
  • Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support student progress and well-being

Requirements

Any prospective SEN Teaching Assistants must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience working with individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting individuals with neurodiverse needs
  • Ability to provide personal care assistance with sensitivity and respect
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion in education
  • Must have a valid enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to pay for a new one (£52.20)

Pay & Hours

  • Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 3:30pm (Monday-Friday)
  • £85-95 per day
  • Weekly pay (£425-475 per week)
  • Temporary to Permanent – permanent contract available after you have completed 12 academic weeks
