Job Overview:

Responsible for overseeing and managing civil engineering projects from beginning to completion. This role requires ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, in accordance with the relevant regulations and safety protocols. Coordinates with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and local authorities, to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Monitor project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure objectives are met.

Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including health and safety regulations.

Stakeholder Communication:

Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and expectations.

Act as the primary point of contact between the client, project team and subcontractors.

Prepare and present regular project reports to stakeholders.

Resource Management:

Allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Manage and supervise on-site personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

Ensure that all staff have the appropriate training and certifications.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure that all risk assessments and method statements are completed and adhered to.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify and rectify any issues.

Quality Control:

Oversee all aspects of the construction process to ensure quality standards are met.

Implement quality assurance protocols and conduct regular audits.

Address any non-conformance issues promptly and effectively.

Financial Management:

Monitor project finances, ensuring that expenditures align with the approved budget.

Prepare cost estimates and manage the procurement process for materials and services.

Approve and process payments to subcontractors and suppliers.

Contract Management:

Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and manage any disputes that arise.

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Health & Safety:

Develop and implement health and safety plans.

Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations.

Conduct regular safety audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Qualifications:

Education: Relevant certifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in project management within the civil engineering or construction industry.

Skills:

Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

In-depth understanding of construction processes and standards.

Working Conditions:

Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.

Flexibility to work outside of normal hours when required.

Travel may be required depending on the project location.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
