I'm looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client in Kings Lynn on a 12-month contract basis.

Job Responsibilities of a Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Design new equipment to meet process specifications.
  • Model parts, assemblies, and create detailed drawings using SolidWorks 3D software.
  • Conduct 3D scanning of existing sites and equipment.
  • Generate weldment cut lists, bills of materials, and assembly/disassembly diagrams.
  • Enhance existing equipment and fabrication/assembly processes.
  • Ensure equipment compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Design Engineer to maintain close coordination between the Design Office, Sales, Manufacturing, and Site Operations for seamless project execution.
  • Apply known concepts and principles proactively and innovatively, utilising a strong understanding of current directives and safety regulations to guide design choices for specific processes.
  • Offer advice and guidance on engineering problem-solving.
  • Consider standardization across various specialized equipment.
  • Regularly analyse design objectives to align with customer needs.
  • Survey existing equipment and site installations.
  • Work with clients to understand and meet their equipment requirements.
  • Prepare operating and maintenance documentation for equipment.
  • Production of operating and maintenance documentation for equipment.
