Cover People are looking for Teaching Assistants to work within a high achieving secondary schools based near the Didsbury area.

We are seeking exceptional Secondary Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals who are proactive and can effectively support students with SEND, particularly those with autism and ADHD. The key quality we seek is academic strength, as the role requires promoting an inclusive learning environment. Preference will be given to candidates with SEND experience and a strong educational background.

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• You have the legal right to work in the UK.
• You hold a current and valid DBS.
• You have previous experience working with children in a classroom.
• Experience in supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Specific responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Supporting the teaching staff and the children to enhance learning.
• Reinforcing lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students individually or in small groups.
• Enforce school and class rules.
• Help prepare for the lesson by getting materials ready.
• Supervise students and support teachers.
• In-classroom support, small group sessions and one to ones.
