Health and Safety Manager - construction/utilities - Bradford, West Yorkshire - £55k-£65k+package - excellent opportunity to join a growing but stable main contractor with operations across the North of England. 

Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the Group Health and Safety Manager providing the necessary support and guidance to enable all employees to have a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Deputise for the Group Health and Safety Manager during absence or when necessary.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the strategic health and safety plan.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of corporate health and safety objectives and targets.
  • Promote within the Group the continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Provide regular health and safety reports to the respective Management Board.
  • Provision of competent health and safety advice to the all employees on their duties and responsibilities with regard to health and safety.
  • Assist with the assessment of risks to health, safety and well being and facilitate the implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Group health and safety policies and procedures

About You 

Our ideal candidate must hold an appropriate level qualification, e.g. NEBOSH diploma. Experience in utilities, civil engineeirng and mechanical and electrical construction would be an advantage. You will have a high level of communication skills with the ability to motivate & influence others. Excellent time management, organisational & decision making skills are essential along with good knowledge of IT skills including Microsoft Office. 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Higher level H&S qualification (ie NVQ Level 5, NEBOSH Diploma).
  • GradIOSH / CMIOSH /CertIOSH.
  • Appropriate IT skills / Information management skills.
  • High level communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to motivate and influence people.
  • Time management skills. Decision making and problem solving within extent of personal responsibility
