Salary Scale: £75 to £100 per day

GSL Education Newcastle is currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team in South Shields. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about working in education but may not have formal teaching qualifications.

Job Summary: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular class teacher, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their work. You will work across different subjects and year groups, providing invaluable support to both students and the teaching staff.

Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-set lessons and manage classroom activities.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Ensure students are on task and completing the work set.
• Support students with any questions or concerns during the lesson.
• Report back to the regular teacher on the class’s progress and any issues encountered.

Cover Supervisor Qualifications:

• Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interactive skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting student learning.
