Swift Placements are working with a Luxury Car dealer in Harrogate who are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Luxury Car Buyer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing luxury vehicles and possess a strong understanding of the luxury automotive market. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring high-end vehicles to meet the inventory needs while ensuring optimal quality and value.

What’s on offer?

A healthy basic of up to £30,000 (dependant on experience) plus uncapped commission with OTE of £70,000 per annum!

Location: Harrogate

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm with 1 hour lunch. With the occasional weekend cover when required

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Acquisition: Source and acquire luxury vehicles in line with company needs, including both new and pre-owned cars. Generate leads and source cars that meet the potential customer’s needs.
• Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and availability of luxury vehicles.
• Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, manufacturers, and other key suppliers.
• Negotiation: Negotiate purchase prices, terms, and conditions to secure the best deals while maintaining the company’s standards for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Inventory Management: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure a balanced and desirable inventory of luxury vehicles.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards before finalising the purchase.
• Documentation: Handle all relevant paperwork, including purchase agreements, warranties, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Budget Management: Work within the budgetary constraints set by the company, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Reporting: Prepare and present reports on market trends, purchase outcomes, and inventory status to senior management.
• Customer Focus: Understand customer preferences and trends to guide purchasing decisions that align with customer demands.
• Compliance: Ensure all purchases comply with the company’s policies and any relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing luxury vehicles.
• In-depth understanding of the luxury automotive market
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms.
• Keen eye for detail, especially when inspecting vehicles and handling documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers, colleagues, and management.
• Understanding of customer expectations in the luxury car market and the ability to align purchasing decisions with these expectations.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
