We are looking for a HV Jointer/Fitter to work for a High Voltage Engineering client in the Midlands

Our client is a specialist electrical contractor working primarily on customer owned high voltage networks.

They currently have a vacancy for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to plan, design, coordinate and manage high voltage installations including associated civil works up to £2m in value

Job Role

HV Jointer/Fitter reports to the Project Engineer

The job is to carry out HV cable jointing and switchgear installations on 11kV-33kV networks.

Joint/terminate all types of  High Voltage and cables up to 33kv.

Experienced at installed transformers and HV switchgear.

Experience in maintaining HV equipment including HV protection relay testing.

Potential to act as a lead hand on large projects.

Competent person who can accept permits/safety documents.

Check and inspect work undertaken by the team for quality and safety standards.

Coach and guide other staff including instructions to colleagues in completing tasks.

To ensure that all project health and safety issues are addressed.

Recognise and comply with health and safety responsibilities.

Requirements

The HV jointer will require:

Experienced in the installation of High Voltage  cables including jointing and terminations

Experience in low-voltage switching operations

Using heavy plant equipment such as elevated work platforms

Knowledge in substation installation

Valid JIB CSCS Card

Ability to work co-operatively and effectively with Project Engineers

Valid full UK driving license

Right to work within UK without restriction
