English Teacher - Alternative Provision

Role: English Teacher

Location: Totnes

Vacancy: Full-time, long term placement covering a perm vacancy which you can apply for.

Start date: early September 2024

Salary: £25,000 to £39,000 depending on experience)

Timeplan Education are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced English Teacher to work within a large SEN provision in Torbay.

The school is well established and has an incredibly supportive leadership team. Supporting secondary age pupils with complex SEMH, ASC and ADHD, the school is well staffed with a strong team of LSAs, advocates, family support workers and an outreach team. In addition to the standard curriculum, many pupils also take vocational subjects, setting them up for future apprenticeship roles.

Within this role, as English Teacher you will lead small classes across Key Stage 3 - 4. Most pupils learn at primary level so for this role it is essential that you have experience of teaching English at primary and secondary levels.

The school are looking for a confident and experienced English teacher with great passion for their subject who can spark interest for the subject within their students. This is a full-time, long-term role. There is a high potential that this role will develop into a permanent job. The school are keen to hear from English Teachers who are exceptional classroom practitioners. In addition, it is essential that you have experience of working with complex SEMH or trauma within a resilient environment.

Please ensure that, if you are applying for this role, you have a qualification to teach English and are confident teaching from KS3-KS4. If you do not have a DBS on the update service, we would ask you to apply for a new DBS before you can start this role.
