Hours- 06:45 until 17:00 Monday to Thursday 

Job Purpose 

Working in a challenging environment, the Line Electrical Maintenance Engineer role will involve a mixture of both reactive and proactive planned preventative maintenance, electrical installation. Working alongside the maintenance engineers to assist in line set up, production efficiencies, improvement and project work whilst also adhering to Health Safety & and Quality Assurance procedures.

 Principal Accountabilities (Major end results the job is expected to achieve)

You will report directly to the Operations Director and work closely with the manufacturing, warehouse and production operations team. The role will also provide day-to-day support for production and manufacturing, ensuring all electrical systems are safe and up to current standards. Also ensuring all lines are set up and running in an efficient manner at the start of each shift.

  • Electrical installations and repairs approved done to current 17th/18th Edition code.
  • All lines to be set up and ready for running prior to the start of each shift.
  • Regular maintenance of all machinery, including documentation.
  • All repairs to equipment within the factory, improvement works and minor projects (avoiding any downtime).
  • To improve reliability and production efficiencies in order to reduce manufacturing/production costs and increase output.
  • Full technical knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of each piece of equipment.
  • To drive improvements within the production and manufacturing environment.
  • To keep downtime to a minimum working within targets set for each machine and each of the finished goods produced.

Resolve complex technical issues, closely analysing downtime and efficiency figures, developing continuous improvement strategies and managing technical projects.

  • Ensure workshop is clean and tidy at all times, well maintained and well stocked up with spare parts, with all storage containers clearly marked up.
  • Maintains the workshop/production area to a high standard compliant with all Health & Safety (including correct PPE) and Environmental Regulations.
  • Flexible and work to speedy manner, whilst also being able to work under pressure at times when deadlines need to be met (occasional shift work requires flexibility).
  • Work with all shop floor staff to ensure machinery is clean at all times.
  • Preventative Maintenance documentation to be clear and up to date at all times with monitoring of areas requiring improvement.
  • Training records to be kept up to date at all times.
  • All duties to be carried out in line with quality and H&S procedures.
  • Report all H&S Issues immediately, making areas safe and assisting with resolving issues.
  • Determine priorities on a daily basis to ensure the demands of the customers are met.
  • Maintains the workshop/production area to a high standard compliant with all Health & Safety (including correct PPE) and Environmental Regulations.
  • Operates and maintains regulations and production policies and procedures relating to all departmental materials.
  • Assist with any general maintenance.
  • Maintain hygiene standards and operate a clean as you go policy.
  • Effectively communicate and work with all Departments, assisting with reasonably requested duties in other departments.
  • Assist with training of new staff members.
  • Regular communication/up-dates within the team.

Qualification:

GCSE “O” level or equivalent

Minimum NVQ in Engineering/Electrical Installation

17th/18th Edition Electrical

Experience:

6 months Line Maintenance experience, preferably with FMCG experience in a manufacturing environment.
