ROLE PURPOSE

Our client is looking for an inspiring individual with a real passion for supporting young people in education. The right candidate will be enthusiastic, determined and resilient with effective communication skills, able to build positive and meaningful relationships with young people who have learning difficulties.  They’ll want to provide opportunities to develop their learners’ skills, abilities and experiences so they have the best chance of personal and academic success. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with individuals who may present challenges, who may have struggled in education and have learning needs.
  • Create engaging schemes of work that demonstrate progression.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver creative, imaginative and engaging lessons (from Entry Level 1 – Level 1) to ensure individuals achieve their course aims.
  • Identify SMART appropriate learning plans for individual learners and support them to succeed.
  • Monitor and assess the achievement of students.
  • Record and report the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Carry out associated academic and pastoral responsibilities as required.
  • Implement our Clients inclusion and equal opportunity policies.
  • Ensure that learning support assistants and visiting speakers are used effectively.
  • Organise and implement trips and events for learning.
  • Take proactive approaches to ensure Safeguarding and Prevent is embedded into the delivery and ensure issues are raised accordingly, in line with our clients Safeguarding Policy using the appropriate recording and reporting tools.
  • Work alongside the Quality team to ensure that delivery meets the high expectations.
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other external organisations involved with the service and learners.
  • Provide cross-curricular opportunities within their team.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with and research updates to qualification specifications and handbooks for subjects quality assured.
  • Participate in OFSTED inspections as required.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified to DTLLS/Cert Ed/ PGCE (desirable)
  • Qualified to PTLLS/ CTLLS  (essential)         
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade C or above (essential)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Our Clients also conducts an internal online search on social media platforms in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. Should any pertinent information arise from this search, it will be discussed with the applicant as part of the recruitment process.
