Topographical Surveyor Job Description


Due to expanding workload we are looking for motivated and committed individuals to join our Topographical Survey Department.


The ideal applicant would have minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience of producing detailed underground topographical surveys and must be able to demonstrate experience in the use GPS and Total Station equipment to produce a detailed topographical survey.


Experience of multi-disciplines would be an advantage.

Role Description

• Carry out site surveys as required by the work instruction

• Undertake thorough and detailed topographical surveys and conduct

paperwork in accordance with company procedures

• Liaising with other site surveyors, contractors, suppliers, clients

• Carry out appropriate quality control checks before drawings issued to

customer

• Mentor and train less experienced surveyors

• Overseeing technical aspects of projects to ensure quality delivery

• Recording of utility mapping survey markings

• Must be self-motivated, have the ability to follow instructions and to

work on their own initiative.


Topographical Surveyor Job Description


Skills & Attributes

• Previous experience working as a Topographical Surveyor, ideally with

supervisory experience.

• Advanced skills in the use of GPS and TPS.

• Ability to use CAD and SSC controller preferred but not essential.

• Excellent knowledge and experience of underground utility mapping and

GPR

• Knowledge of Topographical Surveying equipment beneficial but not

essential

• Experience working across a wide variety of environments and on

complex surveys

• A full UK driving licence

• Right to work in the UK

• Experience of carrying out training of other staff

• Ability to work away from home occasionally

• CSCS qualification is beneficial but not essential
